چکیده
Chromium poisoning of the air electrode is a primary degradation mechanism for solid oxide cells (SOCs) operating under fuel cell mode. Recent experimental findings show that reversed pulse operation SOCs operated as electrolyser can reverse this and extend lifetime. Here, we use multiphysics model an SOC to investigate effects alleviating chromium electrode. We study time fraction electrolysis modes, cyclic starting after certain duration, current densities on lifetime, total power, hydrogen production. Our modeling shows enhances lifetime power all different cases considered in study. Moreover, results suggest production be increased by at longer times mode, from beginning, lower densities. All all, paper documents establishes computational framework serve platform assess quantify profitability co-production through operation.

Performance modeling and parametric investigation of a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC)
In his paper, performance modeling and parametric study of a tubular solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) fed by hydrogen was conducted. The components of the fuel cell system and its reactions were entirely modelled and an electrochemical analysis done for it. A variety of modeling parameters including temperature, working pressure and the air mass- flow rate have been investigated in order to observe...
متن کاملModeling the Performance of a Tubular Solid Oxide Fuel Cell
In this paper, we develop two computational models for the electrical performance of the tubular solid oxide fuel cell designed by Siemens Westinghouse Corporation. The first model makes simplifying assumptions for activation and concentration polarizations and obtains an analytical solution. In the second procedure, we allow the polarizations to vary with the current density and solve the equa...

In this article three dimensional modeling of a planar solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) was investigated. The main objective was to attain the optimized cell operation. SOFC operation simulation involves a large number of parameters, complicated equations, (mostly partial differential equations), and a sophisticated simulation technique; hence, a finite element method (FEM) multiphysics approach ...
